Three-fold Relief Plan
1. Send money for extra food
Our ministry is, and has been directed toward the whole community where the Good Shepherd Orphanage is located. We desire to bring the light of the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to the whole area, and to be good neighbors as well. We have currently doubled the normal budget for food, so that we can feed more of the people of this community, ($500.00 per mo.). We have also received a complete container load of dehydrated vegetable soup that is a well balanced, nourishing meal. This soup would supplement this community’s food supply for a long time. We would like to raise enough money to pay for the transportation and shipping costs only, to get this to them as soon as possible, ($7,000.00). We would like to send them seeds to plant gardens to grow crops to supplement their own food supply, ($300.00).
2. Help this community rebuild their houses
We will help with the cost of building materials and training to help these neighbors to rebuild their own houses. Much like the Amish did in community barn building; these Haitians will join together as true neighbors to help each other rebuild their own houses. Loaning them molds, and supplying cement and sand to make blocks, helping them with a plan for a structurally sound, modest, comfortable house that they can be proud of building and owning will help to rebuild not just houses, but a community, ($2,000.00 per house).
3. Provide a staffed Medical Care Clinic
We will build and supply a small but effective Medical Care Clinic for this orphanage and this community. There are no medical facilities for many miles, and the hospital in Gonaives was completely destroyed by the floods. This Medical Clinic will serve the orphanage as well as the neighbors, and will primarily address first-aid, dysentery, child birth, and physical ailments common to Haiti. This Medical Care Clinic will be staffed and supplied at no cost to the people of this community. We believe that this small but vital need will be a centerpiece for God to minister to this area, ($20,000.00).
